Turbojet Engines
|
|
The Gloster Javelin FAW6 was equipped with two Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire (Type 102 or 103) turbojet engines.
The remains of the engines from Javelin FAW6 XA825 'K'are
shown below.
At this stage, it has not been possible to distinguish between #1 and #2
engines. However, provisionally, the engine found at the lower location has been designated #1 engine on this page, while the engine located at the upper location has been designated #2 engine.

Apologies for Inaccurate
Descriptions
Some parts on this page were incorrectly
labeled as turbofan parts etc., instead of correctly as
compressor parts or sections. As a temporary measure, the
inaccurate part of the captions have now been struck out.
Amended captions will appear on the new ACSS website which
is presently in preparation. (Many thanks to A. Liggat
for bringing this to my attention)
