Below: This unit is
equipped with several electrical transformers and induction
coils. At least two electronic valve (tube) bases can be
seen clearly, and holes for others appear in the chassis.
However, it has not been possible to determine precisely
which piece of equipment this is.

Right: Possibly, part
of an instrument panel, with associated braided cable
sheath.

Below: Electrical
wiring and protective braiding.
Looking closely at the photo,
it will be evident that the wire bundles were not severed in
the accident, but were cut cleanly at some subsequent stage
with wire cutters or similar.
This seems to indicate
that some components have been removed deliberately, either
by the recovery teams or by souvenir hunters.

Above: Again, the wire
bundle in this photo has been cut with wire cutters—not
severed as a result of the crash. This would suggest that the main part
of this component has been removed from the site.

Above: A tangled mass
of wiring, with spade clips attached, lies among the
wreckage parts. Some of this wiring is attached to a
capacitor and inductors, but it is not possible to identify
the original component.

inductors and capacitors.

with nuts and bolts, secured to the remainder of a wooden
post or beam.

Above: Non-electrical
wire cable with coiled wire sheath. The wire terminates in a
small triangular- shaped object (near the top centre of the
photo) and probably formed part of a pulley operated device.

wreckage section from the B-29.

heavily-corroded buckle-shaped object.

Below: This section
shows double rows of rivets along each side.

Above: This object is
made of rubber, and may form part of a fuel tank section.
Many aircraft, including later B-29's, had rubber-coated
(self-sealing) fuel tanks.

Below: An
unidentified section, which appears to be made from a
heavyweight metal, such as iron.

Above: Part of the
debris field scattered across this hillside. The monument
and main landing gear can be seen toward the top right of
the photo.
